What we claim, and what we don't

The 92.8% figure from Al Jouf is real and it is jointly documented. But it should be understood precisely, because it is regularly misread.

That is why we propose trials rather than purchase orders. A demonstration plot uses trees you are planting anyway, costs very little, is supervised by your own people, and within a single season establishes on your own ground whether the water economy holds. If it does, the implications scale. If it does not, you have lost nothing.

On safety

The products are documented pathogen-free and low in heavy metals. The mycorrhizal product is classified non-hazardous under EC guidelines, non-toxic and biodegradable. Pesticides and radioactive materials are not detected in the conditioner. These classifications also ease the import pathway for a national programme.

On what will not work

• Phosphorus-based fertiliser inhibits the mycorrhiza altogether — the two cannot be used together
• Brassicas, amaranths and carnations form no mycorrhizal association and need a different approach
• The first few weeks show weak growth. That is the fungus being paid before it delivers, and it is expected
• Where irrigation concentrates salt at root level before the mycorrhiza establishes, early setbacks occur — as they did at Al Jouf
